Family Court Facilitator

FERRY AND STEVENS COUNTY

There is a $20 fee to set up an appointment with the Court Facilitator for Ferry and Stevens County.  Once you’ve paid the fee, please either go to the Superior Court Administrator’s office at 215 S. Oak Street, Room 209, Colville, WA, or call (509) 684-7553 to make an appointment.

PEND OREILLE COUNTY

Please call the Pend Oreille County Clerk's office at (509) 447-2435 to make an appointment with the Family Court Facilitator in Pend Oreille County. 

The Facilitator will assist with the following types of cases:
Divorce/Legal Separation
Family Law Motions
Child Support Modifications
Restraining Orders
Child Relocation
Establishing a Parenting Plan
Parenting Plan Modification
Non-Parental Custody
Invalidity/Annulment
Parentage

APPOINTMENTS:

During COVID, all services provided are by telephone.  The Court Facilitator will take your information by phone and guide you through the preparation of needed paperwork.  Once in-person appointments can be scheduled, they will be by appointment only.  Please cancel your in-person appointment in advance if you cannot keep your appointment.  If you cancel more than three (3) working days prior to your scheduled appointment, we will reschedule you without paying another fee.  Appointment fees are not refunded if you do not show up for your appointment.  The Facilitator may refuse to schedule additional appointments if you have missed two appointments without canceling in advance.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING CHILDREN TO COURT.

THE FACILITATOR WILL NOT DISCUSS ISSUES RELATING TO CHILDREN IN THEIR PRESENCE

THE FACILITATOR CAN:

  • Explain the process if a party has to go to court
  • Identify and help locate forms for DOMESTIC RELATIONS (family law) cases only
  • Help a party schedule court hearings
  • Check paperwork before a party goes to court
  • Help arrange for an interpreter for court appearance
  • Refer to other agencies for extra help parties may need
  • Compute child support per your income figures

THE FACILITATOR CANNOT:

  • Give legal advice
  • Represent a party in court
  • Fill out forms for the party
  • Tell the party what to say
  • Provide assistance in other civil or criminal matters

FAMILY LAW CALENDARS:

The dissolution calendar for Stevens County is currently set on Mondays.  In order to obtain a hearing date and time, please email Pam Ray at pray@stevenscountywa.gov and request a Notice of Hearing form with the hearing information.  The dissolution calendar for Ferry County is currently set on Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m.  The dissolution calendar for Pend Oreille County is currently set for Thursdays at 1:30 p.m.  FINAL PAPERWORK SHOULD BE REVIEWED BY THE FACILITATOR BEFORE YOUR FINAL COURT HEARING.  It is a good idea to have the Facilitator check your final paperwork no later than two weeks before your final hearing.
